Purpose of Job As a
Logistics Data Analyst , you will support end-to-end supply chain operations by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive strategic improvements. Your insights will guide cross-functional teams in enhancing efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving service levels across logistics and warehousing.
Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze large datasets from TMS, WMS, ERP, and other sources to identify trends and improvement opportunities across logistics functions.
- Build dashboards and generate reports on KPIs such as inventory turnover, transportation costs, order accuracy, and delivery performance.
- Operational Optimization:
- Collaborate with transportation, warehousing, and inventory teams to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and improve delivery times.
- Conduct root cause analysis and cost-benefit evaluations for process changes or system enhancements.
- Vendor & Performance Management:
- Monitor carrier and supplier performance (e.g., on-time delivery, service quality) and provide actionable feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Technology & Systems Utilization:
- Leverage tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, WMS, and TMS to enhance decision-making and reporting capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization within logistics workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, supply planning, and business intelligence teams to align analysis with broader business goals.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with supply chain trends and analytics best practices to drive innovation and efficiency within the logistics function.
Job Requirements Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred or current Master’s students with relevant experience/internships encouraged to apply.
- 1-3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain analytics, or transportation data analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with logistics systems such as TMS, WMS, or ERP platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and presentation skills; able to translate data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Mental & Physical Function Mental Functions: Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department. This position performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to supervisor's guidelines.
Physical Functions: Sitting required 90% of the time. Walking and standing required 5% of the time respectively. No heavy lifting required. Constant keyboarding and telephone usage.
