Job Description
Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Glen Burnie, MD. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement software of embedded systems. Analyzes, studies, and improves the efficiency and stability of the system. Executes a complete embedded software development lifecycle. Develops, codes, tests, debugs and troubleshoots the system software. Successful candidate will participate in Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) software development for ballistic missile and hypersonic projects. Opportunity to travel to support vehicle integration and launch operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Embedded software development using C++ programming language
- Software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop software verification and validation
- Work collaboratively with Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Project Engineers, Manufacturing, Logistics, Mechanical, Quality, Test and other technical disciplines as part of a combined integrated product team
- Interface with customers and working level corporate personnel
Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Strong software development skills in a real-time embedded C++ environment
- Working knowledge of Python & Matlab
- Working knowledge of software development and software documentation
- Experience developing Windows GUI applications
- Ability to prepare, review, and evaluate software documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures.
- Ability to assist in definition, analysis and allocation of requirements
- Ability to support test programs and analysis of test data
- Ability to conduct analysis of requirements and components, and supports verification activities to ensure intended functionality and performance is achieved
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Software Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience relevant to the position description listed above
Preferred -- MS in Software Engineering or related field.
