Our main headquarters is located in East Hartford, CT with our manufacturing headquarters located in South Windsor, CT. We are seeking local candidates within a commutable proximity (preferred).

Job Information

Under moderate to minimal supervision, provide technical/operational drafting and design support to the engineering functional groups. Perform the support required by Engineering to document new designs via Creo parametric modeling and drafting. Includes use of Creo, CAD modeling and drafting, GD&T analysis, support drawing sign-off and release, and maintenance of the Drafting Manual containing HyAxiom drafting standards. Identify standard parts and materials used across all components, provide feedback, and update the drafting manual to streamline the product definition process. Apply Drafter and Designer skills to perform functions of the position within assigned area. Adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment to meet the requirements of the position. Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues and refer only the more complex issues to higher levels. 

Role & Responsibility

• Works closely with engineers, technicians, operations personnel, and project managers to complete designs
• Ensure commitments are met with full documentation and quality products
• Leverage skills and support team work to provide support to ensure effective task execution.
• Responsible for delivering detailed, accurate, and innovative design drawings and 3D models of systems, structures, and components
• Responsible for checking mechanical, structural, and piping drawings for form, fit, and function consistent with company and nationally recognized procedures and standards
• Provide estimates for schedule to internal customers for assignments and manages tasks to be completed on time
• CAD Administrator - management of CAD Software Formats, Tools, Internal Support, Renewals, and Upgrades
• Drive standardization of models and drawings across various internal and external resources through documentation, training, and review

Job Requirement - Education & Experience

• AA/AS degree in Drafting Technology or equivalent experience
• Technical School Certificate with Skilled Trades Apprenticeship or 2 years of post-high school training preferred
• 10+ years of related experience
• Creo and/or ProE experience

Job Requirement - Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to produce drawings which document the intent of the designer
• Knowledgeable about ASME Y14 drafting and design standards
• Proficient using PTC Creo products to meet design intent
• Production of change engineering release documentation with Windchill (PLM)
• Production of drawing trees to document larger change packages
• Familiarity with weldment, piping, and sheet metal manufacturing processes
• Strong computer and systems skills
• Good communications skills
