Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $38.48 - $50.01 / hour
Assists in managing the daily operations and personnel of outpatient imaging departments or hospital-based imaging department, including ED, Surgery Center, and outpatient care areas. The manager also maintains accountability for assigned radiology departments and modalities.
Leader shares accountability for operational, financial, staffing, and personnel aspects of the radiology department. Helps to develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures. Understands and follows human resources and health system policies and procedures. Coordinates hiring, orienting, developing, coaching, counseling, and terminating of employees. Manages a staff of professionals and non-professionals within Radiology services. Coordinates equipment maintenance needs, performance improvement, and quality control activities specific to the department.
Acts as liaison for patient care activities with nursing and other hospital areas or departments. Observes activities of staff, sets expectations, provides input for competency evaluations, and performs staff evaluations as assigned by the department director. Mentors lead technologists and other staff in their development. Represents the campus department and/or director on committees and in meetings located at that hospital site.
May transport non-narcotic medications as directed. Required to be on administrative call as needed. Acts as the designated department leader in the absence of the director. Works to improve campus specific departmental performance by assuring consistent presence and leadership at campus site.
Performs those functions and duties delegated by the director. Assumes other roles and responsibilities as assigned by Multi Site director or system director of imaging.
Education:
B.S. degree in healthcare related field required (or actively working to complete). Graduate of JRCERT Accredited or ARRT approved Radiography Program or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years clinical experience with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Certification:
BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association required.
License:
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required. Registered (CNMT or ARDMS if applicable). DOH State of Florida General Radiographer license or other professional license/certification for specific specialty or Profession.
