About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Billing Specialist with CPC or CPC-A certification to join a healthcare revenue cycle team in Houston. This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 remote) with strong potential for long-term career growth. The Billing Specialist will focus on accurate and timely submission of claims, clearing errors, and ensuring provider satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims (professional and facility) to payers accurately and efficiently
• Resolve loader errors and follow up on charge tasks to ensure clean claims
• Work claims from providers, ensuring they meet package and bundle requirements
• File both paper and electronic claims, ensuring proper documentation and attachments
• Research, document, and resolve abnormal claim filing occurrences and provider trends
• Maintain contract and payer guideline knowledge for accurate billing
• Operate multiple data systems for patient demographics, insurance details, and claim processing
• Support billing team functions including claim auditing, filing, data entry, and cross-training
• Uphold HIPAA and organizational confidentiality standards

Qualifications

• CPC or CPC-A certification required
• Minimum 3-5 years of billing experience (professional and facility claims required)
• High School Diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
• Strong knowledge of ICD-9/10, CPT, insurance guidelines, and registration processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with medical billing systems, clearinghouses, and payer portals
• Strong technical skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work independently
• Preferred: background in cardiology, radiology, or anesthesiology billing
