Title: Senior Director of Renewable Energy - Wind

Travel: 15%-25%

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic engineering leadership for utility-scale solar projects, ensuring effective modeling, construction, and interconnection strategies nationwide.
• Responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the company’s renewable wind energy portfolio in the U.S.
• Will oversee the day-to-day operations, financial performance, and strategic direction of the wind energy fleet
• The Director will manage a team responsible for budget creation, resource planning, and performance monitoring
• Instrumental in developing business opportunities for operational support growth.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, including NERC standards, PPA (Power Purchase Agreements), lending, and other external stakeholder requirements
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics for the wind energy portfolio, aligning with corporate goals and ensuring financial health.
• Accountable for wind sector compliance-related processes such as self-reports, mitigation plans, and any necessary corrective actions related to operational or regulatory performance.
• Work closely with peer leaders to develop, review, and coordinate outage schedules that support overall company objectives and minimize operational downtime.
• Ensure effective planning, organizing, and dispatching of resources, optimizing the performance of each wind energy project in line with company priorities.
• Accountable for environmental, safety, and ethical processes, ensuring that all operations align with best practices and industry standards.
• Oversee the preparation and execution of internal and external audits, self-assessments, and compliance processes to ensure full regulatory compliance of wind sector assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• Master’s degree or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering is Preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in the energy industry and 2+ years of direct EPC experience in solar and/or energy storage projects.
• Strong Leadership and team development skills.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and applicable U.S./IEC equipment standards.
• Experience with EPC contract review, project financing requirements, and managing consultants or contractors.

Company is based in Charlotte, NC.  Open to Remote employees but ideally would like someone to work Hybrid.
