Job Description

Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service.

Overview

Joby Aviation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Recruiter to join our People Team. This role will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates for software positions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, collaborating closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, attract top talent, and ensure a smooth, data-driven recruitment process. This role requires an understanding of software positions, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for finding top talent.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with department heads and hiring managers to assess workforce needs and forecast hiring demands
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess team needs and build targeted talent pipelines
  • Create and post compelling, accurate technical job descriptions aligned with team needs
  • Source and screen candidates for a wide variety of roles across software functions
  • Conduct structured interviews and coordinate technical assessments
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting efforts and offer negotiations
  • Follow up with passive candidates and nurture long-term pipelines for hard-to-fill roles
  • Provide regular reports on recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline activity, and hiring trends

Required

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience, particularly in software or technical roles
  • Proven ability to understand and communicate complex technical job requirements
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Desired

  • Experience with iCIMS ATS system
  • Background in software, high-tech or start-up industries

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $118,000-$157,300/yr. The compensation package offered will be determined by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
